Our key counsellor Trevor is an experienced therapist working with Neuro Linguistic Programming and Hypnotherapy. He has worked with a very wide range of mental wellness matters, and if after consultation, he is not suitable, we will signpost you to another organisation.

What is trauma?
Physical, mental, emotional, even financial matters can knock your daily functioning. Traumatic incidents can have a debilitating effect on us or can inspire us to do better/try again. It affects each of us differently and impact us over time.
CPTSD or PTSD?
Only a Psychiatrist or a Psychologist can actually diagnose these. They are complex by nature and have a multiple range of co-morbid symptoms, the most common of which are anxiety and depression, unlike these you can have outbursts of anger, even OCD traits,
Some can experience the events on a repeating nature, yet not be affected until many years later.
Things have thankfully moved on from soldiers being diagnosed with shell shock, or being branded cowards by society, and whilst there is no cure for CPTSD or PTSD, management of symptoms has greatly improved and some of those skills and techniques can be passed on by Mindfull Options.
Grief and Stress
It is said as long as someone remembers you, you shall be immortal. Grief/loss has an influence on us all. From a friend, relative or even a beloved pet. We all have to deal with anxiety of a daily basis, if we did not, we would take risks or worse not be aware of risks and consequences all around us.

Being able to articulate your anxiety goes a long way to understand it and therefore manage it.
Being told to calm does not help, knowing how to calm down does help.

Good communication skills don't always come naturally. If your counselling has demonstrated that your problem arises in part from poor communication skills, that unintentionally create barriers, a speech therapist or coach can help you with skills such as making eye contact, being concise, and modulating your potential in your personal and professional life.
